One thing that I have noticed since I started this whole journey is how hard it is to find shoemaker tools, resources, and supplies, especially in Ireland.
I’m starting from scratch, so I’m researching and purchasing all of my shoemaking tools for the first time. Most of the general items I have ordered have been from Amazon, but the more specific tools have been sourced and ordered from The Netherlands and Poland. The post-bed type sewing machine that will replace my existing domestic sewing machine is pretty much impossible to find in Ireland, so I will be purchasing that from the UK. Unfortunately, that means import duties.
Online Resources
There are hundreds of videos online on how to make a pair of custom sneakers, but it’s all very top-level information with little to no detail on the materials or products used. I’ve found myself pausing and zooming into videos trying to get a better look at the brands used, and my Google search history is now pages and pages of leather, suedes and mesh-related searches. With that said, anyone that I have reached out to with questions has been very responsive. Hopefully, I can return the favour once I start uploading WIP videos and behind the scene images.
Partnerships
I’m very open to partnerships, so if you are a supplier of shoemaking tools, materials, or products and would like to partner up to promote them through our various social channels, feel free to get in touch.
